Fun Days Out in Ibiza

Published June 09 2023

Lots of possibilities for the most amazing family days out! Here are our best excursions to do with the little ones within the island of Ibiza.

Aguamar Water Park

It’s the closest water park to the capital, located in the south-east of the island, in Playa d’en Bossa.

You will find several adrenaline-inducing rides such as Kamikaze slide or Agujero Negro (Black Hole). But if you’re travelling with toddlers or smaller children there are multicoloured slides that are baby friendly as well as a children’s pool.

Sirenis Aquagames Ibiza

Located in the west of Ibiza, a wonderful place to spend a family day out thanks to their wide range of rides and attractions for all ages and heights.

You can find incredible rides such as Tornado and Multitrack Slides for faster and more adrenaline inducing attractions. Then, for the smaller kids and toddlers, they have Caribbean Pirates’ Boat, water jets, a safari surrounded by palm trees, a kids’ pool and more! The possibilities for a fun time are endless.

Sunset in Benirras & Torre del Pirata

On the north of the island there’s a magical spot that is the Playa de Benirràs or Benirràs Beach. This small beach is known for its almost isolating location and the magical and beautiful view when the Sun is setting. Spend the day sunbathing, swimming in the crystal-clear water and wait for the afternoon for the magical view – the most memorable day as a family and a moment that you will take home an cherish for a very long time!

You also have Torre del Pirata, what is considered one of the most beautiful spots within the island to admire the view in the afternoon and make a memorable family moment while the Sun sets – don’t forget to bring your camera to capture this magical view!

Travel 4 baby top tip: we recommend you go to Benirras on a Sunday as there’s a traditional drum show that will make the experience even better.

Aquarium

You have never seen an aquarium like this one! Cap Blanc is an aquarium built inside a cave. While you get to explore the geological side of the island you will also learn and see the beautiful marine life of Ibiza, with a natural lake where lots of fishes swim freely and other different areas to learn about every species from the island – the best time with the kids!

Mercadillos hippies or Street Markets

Two traditional street markets: Las Dalias and Es Canar, a must when visiting Ibiza. They hold lots of history and sell unique handcrafted items you won’t find anywhere else.

The first one, Las Dalias, is located on the outskirts of the town San Carles de Peralta. If you want to go during the morning, on Saturday the market opens from 10 to 20. But we recommend you to go either on Monday, Tuesday or Sunday as they do a “night market”, opening up from 19 to 0:30 so you are able to look through everything without the heat of the island and with the nice ambiance of live music. These opening and closing times are all from June to September, as during other seasons they may vary.

The second market, Es Canar, is located in the street “Avinguda Punta Arabí” which is why the market is often called Punta Arabí as well, within the town of Es Canar. This market is the oldest and biggest of Ibiza, more than 500 craftsmen that sell some wonderful and unique items – some you will even have the luxury to see working on their craft right there at the market. A great family-friendly experience, as they even have a Hippy Kids stand, a play zone area for the little ones where they can have some fun doing their own crafts. The market opens from 10 to 19 on Wednesdays.

Playa Talamanca (Talamanca's Beach)

Close to Ibiza’s city and with a very easy access, this beach is a wonderful family-friendly plan to spend some time sunbathing, swimming in the ocean and letting your kids play with the sun and waves. Thanks to its popularity over the years, there are also a good amount of beach bars where you can eat some traditional food with some nice cold beverages right by the ocean.

Cala Comte (Count's Creek)

One of the prettiest views in Ibiza, this creek is famous for its crystalline water and its paradisiac landscape. There are two sides where you can lay down your towel and enjoy the Sun and the sound of the waves crashing by the shore, one surrounded by rocks and one by sand dunes. It’s located about 15 minutes away from the town Sant Antonio de Portmany and about half an hour from Ibiza

Travel 4 baby top tip: we recommend you to go early in the morning as it tends to get busy during the summer time.

Bibo Park

Spend the day discovering the natural habitat of Ibiza and learning about its plant and animal species through this beautiful park. Find the landscapes of the island portrayed in the park. You and your family will get to learn about all of Ibiza’s environment and landscapes through a relaxing and interesting experience.

Trip to Formentera

A one-day escape from Ibiza to the Formentera Island – the ultimate family adventure! There are many incredible, kid-friendly and unique experiences within this small island. From Ses Illetes beach (The Islands’ beach), the pink lake Estany Pudent, the leaky cave and more. Of course, you can always stay more than a day and visit the entire island if you have the time. Explore Formentera through its creeks, villages and be astonished by its gorgeous landscapes and that particular feeling only this island can transmit. The Ferry from Ibiza to Formentera depends on the date you book it, but the ticket costs usually around 20-30€ each way and it takes around 30 minutes - you can also take your car with you!

Cueva Can Marça

This cave translates to "Cave of the Mark" and it's a beautiful and natural geological formation in the northern side of Ibiza. It’s more than 100.000 years old and it’s located inside a cliff in Sant Miquel’s Port. Not only is a great to visit the natural beauty of the island but the view from the cliff is also one of the most magical ones you will see during your family trip.
