The Tenerife Airport Local Bus
The bus service in Tenerife is frequent and efficient. The green ‘Titsa’ buses can be found at the bus stop directly outside the main airport doors.
Line 111 runs between Playa De Las Americas, Los Cristianos, Tenerife South airport and the capital city Santa Cruz almost every hour of the day.
Line 343 runs between Playa De Las Americas, Los Cristianos, Tenerife South and North airport and Puerto De La Cruz.
The buses in Tenerife are like coaches so pushchairs and suitcases can be stored easily. You can pay by cash or card on the buses but if you pay cash, drivers prefer you to have change rather than large notes. The cheapest option is to download the TITSA Ten+ card. The card gives you discounted bus rates and can be recharged and topped up at anytime. The TITSA App is also handy to receive live bus times. Bus prices in Tenerife range in price between 1-10 euros on average, depending on the distance you are travelling.
Airport Taxis
Taxis are often a quick and easy option for families in Tenerife. You will find a local taxi rank located outside the last door in the arrivals area at Tenerife South Airport. The price is between 25 and 35 euros to the resorts in the South of Tenerife. Los Gigantes areas will cost between 45-60 euros and Puerto De La Cruz around 85-120 euros. Some taxis can provide car seats however they don’t always have them.
UBER now operate in Tenerife. They have new, modern cars however their prices are higher than local taxi companies.
Tenerife Airport Car Rental
There are many car hire offices located at both Tenerife North and South airports. It is far cheaper and efficient to book your car hire before you travel and have the car for the duration of your stay.
