Here you will find some activities to help you keep your little ones entertained for a few hours with all the beautiful spots and landmarks within the city of Murcia!

Catedral de Murcia

Possibly the most important building within Murcia and definitely for a reason. This cathedral combines gothic style with the renaissance and baroque. It was built in the XV century and it’s well-known for its bell tower right at the top. Being right in the centre of the city it creates a magical contrast from modernism and historic that is typical from Spanish culture.

Teatro Romea

Located in the historic centre of the city, this building is one of the most important landmarks of Murcia. It was inaugurated in 1862 and it features modernism details. This theatre is well-known for its three different levels of royal boxes and the beautiful paintings on the ceiling. It’s considered one of the main theatres in Spain – worth paying a visit during your family trip!

Plaza de las Flores

Probably the liveliest spot in Murcia, a bright and family-friendly plaza – which name directly translates to “Square of the Flowers”. Full of saturated flowers and colourful buildings – a great place for a nice stroll with the kids and to enjoy some tasty tapas like a local.

Puente Viejo y Nuevo

Two of the bridges that crosses over the Segura River and the most famous within Murcia. One is Puente Viejo or Old Bridge, built in 1742 – a beautiful rock bridge that creates a great landscape thanks to the “Virgen de los Peligros” temple on the south. The Puente Nuevo o de Hierro (New Bridge or Iron Bridge) was built within 1894 and 1903 and is known for its impressive iron structure.

Mercado de las Verónicas

The main market plaza in Murcia. It’s a beautiful modernist brick building in a white rock that stands out from the rest. Inside you can find more than 100 stands with lots of different products and all of them the best quality you can find. Right by the market you can see an old Arabic wall and the only tower that’s preserved.

Monasterio de Fuensanta

In the outskirts of the city, right by the mountains and country side you can find this incredible Sanctuary that, thanks to its bright white colour, stands out beautifully. Aside from the building and the religious side of it, there you can find one of the most gorgeous views of Murcia.
