Fort Marlborough

This historic monument can be found in the entrance to Mahón’s harbour and was built by the British around 1720. It’s a great way to know the history of the island and know all its secrets with your children.

What can you expect?

You can either book an audio guide, guided tour or a general entrance ticket. You will get to see a classic fort, once equipped with artillery guns to defend the capital from possible attacks. Now, you and your family can experience a re-enactment to see how people lived back in the day and get an in-depth feeling of how the Fort was really like.

How to get there

A taxi might be a good option since it’s a 15min drive from the centre of Mahón. Always check with your hotel on what options you have available as they use reputable companies. Do you have or are you thinking of renting a car? This is your ideal time; you can use a rental car to get to the Fort. There are parking facilities nearby, in Cala Sant Esteve.
